Holmes must find out if the death of their client was an accident

I'd appreciate it if someone would answer my question. Thanks in advance.

Concerning sentence A ----- Can "find out" be replaced by "find"?

A: Holmes must find out if the death of their client was an accident, or a murder.

Hi, I wouldn't say that 'find' is wrong, but it doesn't sound right because 'find out' is much more idiomatic when the meaning is 'to discover' and when we are talking about detectives and crime. Best wishes,Clive
