Hey, ok I realize you wrote this about 5 years ago, but I just read it right now, so I'll tell you what I think.

Just my opinion...

He's writing about someone who has fallen in love. When you fall in love, you do stupid things. Everyone else can see that you're being stupid, but you sure don't. Or even if you know you're being stupid, you can't seem to stop yourself.

Really good possibility. I would just add a twist to explain why such a cryptic love song: if it is loving another man, it would explain even better all the still shadowy parts, starting with why it has to be so obscure.

I think the most important sentence in "holiday" lyric is : "when the someone else is me", he thinks he is the only love of his girl friend, but discovered that he himself is not the original couple but the 3rd person, therefore he is "the someone else".

Knowing that he is someone else, then, we can easily understand this is a sad song and also know why "millions of eyes can see, yet why

I thought about the lyrics a while, and I think I have a more accurate interpretation. The man in the song is enthralled with a young woman, but their time together is "just a holiday" to her. The relationship seemed worthwhile when he believed it was real, but he was blinded by his own desire so that he did not realize how she viewed the relationship. Now he realizes the relationship was just
