Hold up/ Just so...

1) I've recently heard people use the phrasal verb 'hold up' in two different ways dictionaries don't usually list as entries. Is it a new usage?

a) Paul: How are you holding up, Joe?

-----

b) Mary: I'll hold up my promise and you'll hold up yours, ok?!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2) What is the meaning of the phrase 'Just so...' ? I've seen it usually is followed by the verb 'know': Just so you know...

Thanks, and yes I assumed those were the meanings for A) and B), though it's kind of wierd I couldn't find them on my dictionary (The Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English, one of the best out there), that's why i wondered if they were newly slang phrasals.

Hi,

I'll hold up my promise and you'll hold up yours, ok?!

I haven't heard this with regard to a promise.

What I have heard is I'll hold up my end . . . The idea here is that there is a mutual agreement or bargain of some kind, and that I will do my part, do what I have agreed to do
