Hold abs in/back support

Hi
In a book about training your abs the author writes about running and walking. He says:

The higher you can get your heart pumping, the more fat you’ll lose. But
walking is perfectly acceptable, as long as you walk long enough and
often enough. Remember to stand tall while you walk, as this holds your
abs in and helps to tone them as you walk around. You’ll also be giving
your back far more support, which can also help strengthen the muscles there.

What does it mean that it "holds my abs in"? Keeps them tensed?

I'm also not 100% sure what the author means by giving my back "support"?

As you know 'abs' is short for 'abdominal muscles', but I can't offer any help with the meaning of this passage. I began to suspect the validity of this text by the second word, which should be faster . Rover

Hi,
No doubt this passage has several problems. Nevertheless, this is how I can make sense of it:
Newguestas this holds your abs in
...as this holds your abs firmly in position.
NewguestI'm also not 100% sure what the author means by giving my back "support".
Same as above. Just substitute abs for back.
