Hochiminhan or Hanoian???

Question

I'm living in city Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. All the time I say " people living in city Ho Chi MInh" or " people living in city Ha Noi". They are too long.
I want to say them more short.

Can I say, "Hochiminhan" and "Hanoian"?

Don't say the word 'city'. Just say
eg people who live in Ha Noi.
eg people in Ha Noi.
You could even say 'Ha Noi people'.

Can I say, "Hochiminhan" and "Hanoian"?

I would avoid this approach. It tends to be idiomatic, and I doubt that there are widely accepted English idioms for people who live in Vietnamese cities.
