00When I had to introduce myself in the beginning of the year, I immediately thought of my interest in music. When I was eight years old, I asked my mum and dad if I could play the drums. They said it made a lot of noise and that a drum set would not fit in my room, nor anywhere else in our house. That disappointed me, but they did allow me to play the snare drum. I joined an orchestra in Zwolle, called ‘Kunst na Arbeid’, and I learned a lot. My teacher said I had a lot of talent and that I was learning fast. That was probably because I practised almost every day. However, I had the change to expand my skills by beginning to play the drums in the orchestra. I also had lessons on playing the triangle, bongos, xylophone and kettledrums. 02br
00Meanwhile, I learned to play the keyboard at home. My father had keyboard lessons himself and gave me a book which I could use. I already had some skills and knew some theory, so I only had to gain some experience. I began to play some simple songs from a book a got at secondary school, which went very well. Later on, I started searching the internet for more songs and played a lot. I began to improvise on some songs, and even tried to write some songs of my own. That last part didn’t really work out, but perhaps that’ll come later on. 02br
00About a year ago, I started playing the guitar. I browsed the internet to find some theory on chords and started practising. I found some songs on the internet and also bought a book with some songs I knew. 02br
00I never felt like joined a band or starting one, but I do have the change to play in church. I played the keyboard in church, but someone else took over from me. I had to learn some other things before I could play in church, so in about a year I might be able to start playing again. Meanwhile, I just enjoy playing songs I like and gaining experience. 02br
