HM/TC

Hi,

From an electric hand planer's specification:

"... the HM/TC planer blade...

(I realize this is far from being a "general English question"... I have spent plenty of time searching for what HM/TC means in the internet but without success ... perhaps someone could help me out? )

I believe that HM is a standard, referring to the composition of the metal used in the main construction of the tool. (I think it was developed by Bosch, the German company). For example, in the UK, a standard used to be Sheffield Stainless Steel stamped on products made there, as a standard of guaranteed quality of the stainless steel.
