HIV

Hi,

I was taught that it was incorrect to write "He has HIV" and that "He is HIV positive" should be used instead. It seems however that a simple google search yields many hits for "He has HIV". Was the tip I was given based on political correctness or is it simply utterly wrong?

I agree with Clive.

Political correctness has nothing to do with it, but I expect medical professionals will prefer - if not insist on - 'he's HIV positive'.
