Hitting a towering triple?

Hello everyone.

“He’s rounding third base and heading for home. Oh, and he crosses

the plate. Another score! Keio wins, Keio wins, Keio wins! Kachikawa

hits a towering triple, Keio scores two runs, and just like that, the game

is over.

Would you please tell me what hitting a towering triple means?

And in Keio scores two runs, run means merely a score or it refers to special score in baseball?

Thanks ??

When the batter hits the ball, he tries to run from home plate to first base, to second base, third base, and back to home plate. If a player on the other team tags him (touches him with the ball) when his foot is not on a base, he is out.

When he hit the ball, it went high in the air (towering) before landing in the outfield. The batter was able to get to third base (triple) before the other team could get the ball back to the infield.
