Hits home

Hi
"It hits home".
what does it mean?
Let's say you say "oh man, all these pictures are ridiculous." I look at them and i don't find any problem with them or let's just say none of them make me react in any way but one. One of them really looks stupid in some way(let's say number 2).
Can i say "I see what you're saying. Number 2 hits home."?

Good day, Michael, the idiom 'hit home' means 'to become very meaningful', 'to affect you personally', 'to touch you'. It perfectly fits into the following context: When they see hungry Canadian children on TV, the message about poverty will hit home , but I doubt if it suits yours (try the above rephrasings to see for yourself).
