I want to know how to use verbs like hit,put,cut,come in the present perfect and simple past forms .

The former ones are in present perfect and the latter ones in simple past.Sir ,does it imply that the third form of these verbs is similar to their first forms?how are we going to differentiate between the simple present and simple past sentences in the latter sentences ."Mary cut her hand" ,someone can also conclude it to be simple present sentence.thanks
