Hit someone's head with a baseball bat

Hello,
I personally think there's nothing wrong with: "Jim hit his head with a baseball bat and ran off." Why can't we hit something with something else? I think it is pretty possible.

I realize that "He hit me on the head" probably sounds better. In this sentence the direction of the strike is not important. Sideways, from above, etc. It doesn't matter.

Gene93 "He hit me on the head" probably sounds better. It definitely sounds better. You just have to accept sometimes that one way of saying something is natural while another isn't.

Okay. Having said that, I assume that "He hit me on the arm/shoulder/palm/foot/etc with a baseball bat" still sounds more natural that just "He hit my arm/leg/shoulder/etc with a baseball bat", yes?

Thank you and I apologize for suggesting a different option.
