Vocabulary

His whereabouts are CIRCUMSPECT

A lot of attention are swirling around this suspect. His whereabouts that night are somewhat circumspect.

[H]1. Is this a normal/correct way to use "circumspect"? (I have only seen it being used to describe people: he's very circumspect about sth)

Emotion: geeked2. I just start learning this new vocab, so I haven't fully grab the sense of this word in this context. Could you be so kind, and use some other words to substitue "circumspect", while keep the original meaning?

my thoughts:

A. his whereabouts are somewhat in need of cautious, onging investigation?

B. his whereabouts are not being disclosed; he is cautious about not to say anything?

C. his alibi of his whereabouts was carefully said, maybe too careful, maybe he's trying to hide something. By using a fairly neutral word circumspect, the writer tried to bring up the suspicion without brand him a criminal intent prematurally.?

(dictionary.com)

1. watchful and discreet; cautious; prudent: circumspect behavior.
2. well-considered: circumspect ambition.

Just wanted to add - I've often heard "his whereabouts are suspect." Wonder if that could have been intended?
