1) A: “He got invited to the next round of the interview.”
B: “That would explain his wearing a suit.”
“That would explain him wearing a suit.”
Are both correct? I’d use ‘his’, but I heard both. The second sentence doesn’t sound quite right to me.
2) “They hinted at him or his being alive.”
I’m less sure in this case.
