His doing it will result in success.

Would you teach me how to use "possessive case + gerund"?
Are the following sentences correct?

#1. His doing it will result in success.
#2. I can realy understand his composing those kind of pieces.
#3. There is strong possibility of his helping us.
#4. Mary's getting up so early surpirsed all her family.

I think they're incorrect because "possessive case + gerund" sounds so odd.

Hi, Your sentences all use this OK. Does 'I like her dancing' sound odd to you? Or 'His swimming is world-class'?

Does 'I like her dancing' sound odd to you? Or 'His swimming is world-class'?

Yes, they did before.
But I'll reform myself.

Thanks!
