Him or I? Or Him or Me?

This was the "fill in the blank" section of my daughter's homework.

Be careful. Don't kick him or ___.

The choices were: I or me. My daughter chose "I" and it was marked by the teacher as correct.

I thought it would be, Don't kick him or me.

Thanks,

Julia

You are right; your daughter and the teacher are wrong and it should be brought to the teacher's attention. Let's hope the teacher was just distracted while grading the papers -- if the teacher really thinks it should be "Don't kick him or I," you have a problem!
