Hi,i have to write a letter to my school,so anyone check for my sentences whether mistake or not?

I apologize for my mistake for not understand clearly about the policy of fee refund. Our class had a study trips on 1st week and we actually started our lecture on the 2nd week. So I withdraw the subject after one week of effective date because I thought the effective date was calculated from the week we started our lecture.
