Higher point

Hi.Is 'higher point' used correctly in: The first thing I will do after I face an emotional problem is that I will try not to think about it for a while and take some sleep. After that I will write all the things which hurt me, and try to see the situation from "a higher point" in order to see all its aspects.?Thanks in advance!
