High school friends

1-I met two of my high school friends yesterday.

If I am not going to high school any more, does that sentence mean:

a-I met two people who have been my friends since high school
or
b-I met two people who had been my friends in high school and are not my friends any more.

Gratefully,
Navi.

It's more likely to mean "b."

I agree that it's more likely, but there is no way we can be sure without more context.

Right. I should have said so.
(Just trying to remember how I would have used and interpreted the expressions.)

Half of the members of my high school class have "passed on," so there actually are none who have "been my friends since high school."
