"High and lows" vs "Ups and downs"

Hi

Do you find the following sentences correct and natural?

Everyone's life consists of many ups and downs, but some people have unproportionately more downs than ups; for example me.

and:

Everyone's life consists of many highs and lows, but some people have unproportionately more highs than lows; for example me.

A mother to her recently divorced daughter:

Don't worry; it's just a brief phase of lows, but when highs come, you'll surely forget about all this.

and last:

Don't worry; it's just a brief phase of downs, but when ups come, you'll surely forget about all this.

Thanks,

Tom
