Hide his hatred for/of/against

Even though he tried his best, he couldn't completely hide his hatred __________ Ken.

- What would be the more natural preposition to insert here?

- Is "hatred" outdated or OK? If outdated, what other word could replace it?

"Against" is not so good. "Of" is common. "For" is OK, but it works better when it's like "the hatred he felt for Ken", where "of" is not possible. "Toward" also works (British "towards").
