Hide

Every heart has a pain. Only the way of expressing it is different. Fools hide it in eyes, while brilliant hide it in their smile.

Can anyone explain me the bold part. What does the writer wants to tell. How can it be expressed when one is hiding it in their eyes and smile.Emotion: thinking

It is a common expression to say that you can see the pain in someone's eyes. That is, you can tell that someone is unhappy even if they do not say so. To hide your pain "in your smile," means that you are doing more than keeping silent about your unhappiness.
