The bar chart below shows the numbers of men and women attending various evening courses at an adult education centre in the year 2009. The pie chart gives information about the ages of these course participants:

The bar chart and pie chart give information about the numbers of males and females who studied in the education centre held in the evening for adults and the ages of those attendees in the year 2009.

It is noticeable that this centre attracted more women joining the classes than men, with language course had by far the highest number of learners. In addition, these courses were popular among older age groups.

With regard to the number of people who participated in the drama course, it had around 10 males and 20 females. Likewise, language classes also had a higher number of women than men, with 60 attendees consisting of 40 women and 20 men. While painting classes had relatively equal numbers of both genders, sculpture courses were dominated by men. In addition, sculpture courses also received less interest from learners compared to the other courses.

Regarding the ages of participants, more than 40% of the learners were 50 years old or over, twice as much as the number of people aged 30-39 which only accounted for less than one fifth. 26% of the learners were in their forties, and the remaining 16% is shared by the people from 20 to 29 and under 20 age groups.
