Some people think that a huge amount of time and money is spent on the protection of wild animals, and that this money could be better spent on the human population. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

It is true that thousands of wildlife species are on the brink of extinction, so it is necessary to put more resources into preserving these animals. However, many people argue that it should be dedicated to humans as it is a waste of time and money to spend on animals. I disagree with this view since protecting animals also benefits humans.

In the long term, protecting animals can mean preserve human life due to the inseparable relationship between human race and wildlife. Therefore, the extinction of animals will have negative consequences on humans. Each animal plays a unique function in ecosystem so if a species is died out, it will have domino effect on the entire ecosystem and break the food chain. For example, birds play an integral role in the growth of crops as they often eat seeds and spread seeds around the land. So the decline in this species population can cause reduced crop productivity, which in turn affected adversely human’s food sources.

Furthermore, wildlife reserves bring a range of benefits. First, it is an important source of income in some areas. These areas an run wildlife park to attract tourists, so they contribute to the economy with money spend on purchasing tickets to see these exotic animals. Besides, it also creates more employments such as veterinary care or feed animals for local residents. Second, conserving wildlife means preserving their natural habitats such as forests and oceans. By protecting them, we make the planet healthier for humans. For instance, if we protect the forests, they will assist in the combat against global warming or climate change.

In conclusion, it is critical to protecting wildlife as it is in the interest of mankind.
