The graph below shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat
in a European country between 1979 and 2004.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make

The line graph shows changes in the per capita consumption of chicken, beef, lamb, and fish each week in a European country from 1979 to 2004.

Overall, there was a significant increase in chicken consumption, while the expenditure on beef, lamb, and fish decreased. In addition, fish was the least commonly used food throughout the period shown.

Between 1979 and 1989, beef consumption was the most popular meat, reaching a peak of 240 grams per head per week in 1984. During the same period, consumption of chicken also rose to surpass those for beef, while the figure for lamb fluctuated with a downward trend from 150 grams to 100 grams per person. Fish accounted for the lowest number with only under 50 grams eaten in 1989.

By 2004, the amount of beef consumed plummeted to about 100 grams, but the consumption of chicken jumped to 250 grams, overtaking other groups. By contrast, around 50 grams of lamb was eaten, compared to about 40 grams of fish in 2004.
