Nowadays animal experiments are widely used to develop new medicines and
to test the safety of other products. Some people argue that these experiments
should be banned because it is morally wrong to cause animals to suffer, while others are in favor of them because of their benefits to humanity.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

The use of animals in medical testing is becoming increasingly popular. While some people argue that animal testing is beneficial for humanity, I believe it unethical to use animals for research and experiment.

The reason why people are in favor of animal testing is that it is crucial to ensure drugs are safe before they are given to humans. When researchers created a new drug, it may have side effects or even cause humans to die. So it is better for an animal to suffer than for a human to die. Additionally, animals are appropriate for research due to biological similarities. We have the same set of organs and the same conditions such as genetic disease. Therefore, it allows researchers to explore how organisms function and find out how genes work. As a result, a wealth of medical advances was made with the help of animal research.

On the other hand, I believe it unnecessary and cruel to use animals on testing as the benefit of research using animals do not justify the suffering caused. In fact, in the US, there are thousands of laboratory animals are used and many of them suffer extreme pain and are died during experiments. Besides, human and animal bodies have always been different so many experiments involving animals are flawed. In other words, the differences in physiology, genetics, and cell structures between humans and animals invalidate most curs devised by animal experimentation. Furthermore, there are alternative methods such as studying cell structures or using computer models that can replace animal testing. For example, sophisticated computer models have been used in recent years to test the safety of new drugs or cancer treatments.

In conclusion, it seems to me that it would be wrong to do experiments on animals despite its effective outcomes.
