Essay & Composition Writing

Hi teacher, can you help me with my essay. Thanks

Many people think that mobile phones should be banned in public places such as libraries, shops and public transport. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

With mobile phones are becoming part of our daily life, many people argue that there should have regulation of phones in public areas. I completely disagree with this view as such a complete ban is unrealistic.

The reason why banning mobile phones in public can be impractical is that they have become indispensable especially in emergency situations. Most job requires employees to use their phone all day such as businessmen and deliveryman, or they must be available by phone to solve emergency problems for example doctors and policeman. This meant people must have their phones on them in public places for work purposes. Moreover, mobile phones play an important role when you have troubles like having an accident so your friends or family can easily locate you when you call. They can save life as emergency services, which public phones booths seem to be on the verge of extinction cannot do.

Another reason is that mobile phones are becoming a key ingredient in daily life. Phone addiction has reached a point where almost everyone in public uses their phone as a way to minimize boredom during breaks and waiting. In fact, there is even a term to describe this “nomophobia” (no-mobile-phone) which is when a person has an actual fear of losing or being away from their phone. If there had been a complete ban on mobile phones in the public, there would have been a fierce opposite as a ban would crucial their personal freedom.

In conclusion, despite the impact of phones on social interaction, such a ban can be irresponsible and impractical to change the way people use their phones in public.
