Essay & Composition Writing

Hi teacher, can you help me with my essay. Thanks

For school children, their teachers have more influence on their intelligence and social development than their parents. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Many believe that teachers are more influential in the development of children’s intellectual and social abilities compared to parents. However, in my opinion, although teachers have certain impacts on this, it is the parents who play a bigger role.

On the one hand, teachers can play an important role in the growth of their children to encourage intellectual development and stimulate the intelligence of school children and social dexterity. As they are trained to impart their knowledge of subject areas in challenging and imaginative ways. Some teachers are capable of inspiring their children so they could owe their lifelong love of a subject taught by a dedicated teacher. Besides, teachers not only help their pupils develop interpersonal skills but also boost their communication or some social skills such as teamwork or problem solving by organizing creative games and group work assignments.

Nevertheless, the effect of parents on their children is much more significant than that of teachers. The first reason is parents spend far more time than any individual teacher can do. In other work, teachers only in charge of their children until they left school and graduate, can hardly have as great impacts as parents who are always by the side until they grow up. So they can have a dominant influence on shaping their children’s personality, especially in their children’s formative years by setting good examples through a range of situations such as showing respect towards elders, choice of friends, or proper behavior in public. Also, unlike teachers who have to look after many children simultaneously, parents can spend hours talking or solving puzzles with their offspring, reinforce their intelligence by encouraging study habits, and have serious supervision in the mature of children.

In conclusion, despite the undeniable impacts of teachers, what can define how intelligent and how good at social skills a child can be is his or her parents. However, it is essential for both of them to join hands for the sake of the comprehensive growth of children.
