Foreign visitors should pay more than local visitors for cultural and historical
attractions. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
Many people argued that inbound tourists should be charged more than local residents while visiting cultural heritage and ancient places. Personally, I completely disagree with this view.
The main reason why foreign visitors ought to pay a higher price would be that they believe it will develop the local economy as well as improve the living standards of natives. However, I believe this to be a shortsighted view. Because tourists already support the local economy by paying enough for accommodation, food, and buying gifts from the country they visit. If travelers realized that they would have to pay more, they would feel discriminated against and not decide to visit again. It might lead to a noticeable decline in tourism as well as reduce the financial benefits of the host country.
Tourists come to a foreign country because of their interest in the history and culture of those places . When they look at the double-price policy, they believe that these attractions become a money-making tool so this creates negative effects on the value of culture and history of a nation. Increasing fees for overseas visitors would reduce the spread of one’s culture to other parts of the world, which would make the country unknown for most people worldwide. In contrast, if foreign visitors had positive impressions, they would provide substantial contributions to the host tourism industry by helping to promote the nation’s cultural heritage.
In conclusion, I believe that both native and overseas tourists should be treated equally while visiting iconic spots and it would be counterproductive to make extra money from overseas visitors
