I have asked this question in other forums too but I have got different replies. Still I have some confusion that' why I want to ask it here to see what your answer is.
Would you please tell me what punctuation you prefer in a an ordinary greeting if you were an author and writing an ordinary simple conversation? And what do you think of #1 and #6? And Also what do you think about #5 and #7 and #4? Some native English speakers say it's silly to use a comma after "Hi" in #5 and 7#. And some others say it's fine. Some people say #4 is the most common one and some others say #5 and #7 are the most common ones.
Now I am confused. I will be grateful if you tell me what you think of them one by one.
