Hi is there a difference between Chap Champ Chum and Chump?

Just someone I dont know called me "Hey chap/champ/chum/chump!" on a street
I am not sure what he called me, what do you think he used? And are anyone of these a bad word to call someone you dont know?
Thank you

P.S. I am in Australia

Well thanks, I think I can rule out "champ"
But what if he did call me "chump"?
Am I offended in anyway?
But of course, I dont get the feeling because I am not English natives.
How can you tell from the pronunciation if someone called you chap/chum or chump?
Thanks

I would be pretty sure he called you champ. It's like calling someone mate or dude or bro. Definitely wouldn't take offense, as long as his demeanour was polite.
