Hi, I'm writing a script...

Hi, I'm writing a script, which you do mainly in the present tense. I wrote this...

She sits with her laptop, trying to get some work done but finds it difficult to focus.

First question: Is it understood that she is already sitting when the scene starts or does it sound like she sits down and then tries to get some work done?

Second question: Is it ok to use the -ing form with "trying"?

Third question: How would you punctuate the sentence?

I appreciate any help you can give. Thank you.
