Dear Mr Mrs

I am writing to apply for the MSc program in Environmental Sciences at XXX.

I graduated in environmental biotechnology in February 2006 from the XXX. My degree focuses on leachate cleaning in a biological process. Since October 2004 I was a member of a science group at my University and I took part in several conferences. These activities aroused my interest in issues such as landfills, waste waters and leachates and also the pollution these factors may cause. In the MSc program I would like to extend my knowledge gained during my five year study - in finding the ways to improve the quality of the environment and to discover methods that may decrease currant pollution.

As far as I remember I have always been interested in science. At high school I was attending a biology and chemistry courses and then I realized that environmental issues became my favorite subjects. I decided to study biotechnology with a focus on the environment. When doing my last year at University I knew I did not want to finish my education yet and I decided to do a more studies. The Environmental Sciences program offered at Wageningen University appealed to me the most for its impact on protecting the environment and its concentration on consequences and effects of pollution and degradation that are present in a surrounding environment. I am aware how important finding new ways to ameliorate the state of the environment is and how necessary to find sustainable answers to the threats facing it are.

I am assured that the Masters at XXX is the proper choice for me. My curiosity in learning new things, ability of improving myself and finding solutions for unsolved problems are advantages and I feel confident that they will enable me to learn a lot of new information. Studying this program is very significant for me because it will develop a strong background that will enable me to find an interesting job in the future. I want to have a solid foundation of academic theory coupled with practical experience. I would appreciate receiving the opportunity to study at Wageningen University.
