Hi BeginStudent You have scanned a sheet with exercises. For each set of sentences, one sentences uses the simple past tense and the other one uses the past progressive. Have you tried to do these exercises?

I thought i need to do that : "Jeff was trying to shut down the fire when his kitchen caught fire."
i intend he was trying to shut down the fire when he saw the the kitchen burn .
