Hi I need help answering these English questions and probably some explanations

I am not sure what the answer is but I am picking between a & b and not sure which one.

Which of the following sentences illustrates proper structure?
a. Unless the world controls its population, mankind will continue to face oe problem after the other.
b. Unless the world doesn't control its population, mankind will continue to face one problem after the other.
c. Unless the world controls its population, until then mankind will continue to face one problem after the other.
d. Unless the world fails to control its population, mankind until then will continue to face one problem after the other.

For this question, my answer is between c & d, again I am not sure which one.

Choose the series of prepositions that best completes the following sentence.
The deer ran quickly________ the trees, its hooves pounding ________ the forest floor.
a. amid, from
b. over, at
c. through, on
d. throughout, on

Top answer

The correct answers are A for the first question and C for the second. However "oe problem" should be "one problem" in question #1, also the sentence should actually read as follows: Unless the world controls its population growth , mankind will continue to face oe problem after the other. 1. I'll vote for a.
The situation in the unless clause is an exception to the fact that a variety of problems are waiting for us human being. Reasonably, the exception would be that the world takes some positive measures, such as controlling the popularity.

2. In my opinion, c would be the best choice, though both through and throughout are grammatically correct in this case.
