I am writing to apply for the Research Master programme in International Economics and Business (IE&B) at the University of ............


Since February 2007, I held a four-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration from .... University, TURKEY. This includes one-year of study, my fourth, at the University of Groningen as an Erasmus student. However, it does not contain one-year English Language preparation programme that I attend before the beginning of my bachelor courses. Since the language of instruction at my university was English, it was neccessary to engage in a solid English course for the betterment of my foreign language proficiency.



From the outset of my undergraduate education, my career ambition is to embark on academic research in the fields of where economics and business overlap. Although, there are plenty of research areas that are related to both business and economics, during my extended period of study, I want to focus primarily on in the areas of...... and thus to develop this as my specialisation.




During my bachelor phase, I took courses that focus on the merits of both management and economics. In other words, since I have the awareness about the requirements regarding a succesful career in international business and economics, I prepared myself academically for my interested research area by learning the rudiments of both economics and business. Classes that I engaged in include international marketing, international finance, security markets and exchance analysis, organizational behaviour, human resources behaviour, microeconomics, macroeconomics, financial decision analysis, consumer bahaviour, and so on. These courses provided me with vast knowlege regarding the basics of both economics and business. Therefore, I have a good understanding of business and economics concepts, theories, that is crucial in completing my planned master programme at .... successfully.




Finally, I kindly want to indicate my request in order to be considered for one of the scholarships that is provided to ....Research School by the University of .......I am very ambitious to pursue a career of academic research in the fields of international economics and business especially at a university that provides me with a truly international environment. From my previous one-year study as an exchange student at ....., I had the opportunity of experiencing the high level international environment in the learning and reseach activities at ..... However, as I cited before, I am really in need of financial aid in order to able to start my career in an international university, in this case at the University of ...... I need a scholarship chifly because the tuition fees are extremely high for a non-EU student compared to a EU/ EEA student. If I am considered as an appropriate candidate for the financial help, this situation will absolutely motivate me to maintain a successful career. I will be extremely grateful for your support and look forward to being able to contribute to the community once I get into my career either as a researher or teacher.
