The table below give information about sales of Fairtrade-labelled coffee and bananas in 1999 and 2004 in five European countries. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The table compares five different countries in term of sales of Fairtrade-labelled coffee and bananas in 1999 and 2004. As it is observed from the given statistic, coffee sales increased in all the given nations over the last 5 years. The figure of bananas sales witnessed a similar trend in 3 countries except Sweden and Denmark, which has a slight decrease in bananas supply.


To begin, it is apparent that in the UK sales of Fairtrade-labelled coffee were highest compared to the other countries, accelerating dramatically from 1.5 millions of euros in 1999 to 20 millions in the next 5 years. Besides that, the consumption of coffee in Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium and Sweden both experienced a steady growth, which was 6, 2, 1.7, 1 millions of euros respectively in the year 2004.


Following that, the pattern of Fairtrade-labelled bananas sales registered trebling rise in Switzerland market, increasing from 15 millions in 1999 to 47 millions in 2004. The bananas consumption figure of two other nations UK and Belgium also underwent a considerable growth while reach the peak at 5.5 and 4 respectively in 2004. On the other hand, over the proved period, the amount of money that Sweden and Denmark gained by selling Fairtrade-labelled bananas seen a slight drop, falling from 1.8 millions to 1 millions and 2 millions to 0.9 millions respectively.


Thus, the sales of Fairtrade-labelled coffee experienced an upward trend in all given countries, whereas that of Fairtrade-labelled bananas in Sweden and Denmark registered a gradual reduce.

You wrote more than 100 words over the minimum. Even though there is no penalty for this, it would be time better spent for Task 2. Be very careful of using synonyms in Task 1. Synonyms often have different meanings, and in math/science contexts, precision and accuracy is very important.
