Essay & Composition Writing

Hi guys. Glad if you could help me

Hi! My name is Ricardo and I am new here. I was wondering if anyonce could help me to revise my academic essay( content, coherence, language). I have a writing assesment in English on January and my native language is Spanish. I made this essay on 70 minutes and is about PETA, I got the info of its debate here: http://www.debate.org/peta/

Thanks in advance for your help!! Here is the essay:

PETA is an institutional body whose objective has been to fight for the rights of the animals. Since its beginning, people started to argue about the real values that motivated this organization. There is a group that agree that this organism is just a radical association that enjoys anarchy and use animal rights as an excuse. Nonetheless, PETA´s activities are far from being an extremist position on the animal rights advocacy issue.

First of all, PETA has repeatedly proven that they really aspire to achieve that people truly respect animals. For example, PETA has protested against people who wear fur. Moreover, this movement fights against animal testing on laboratories. It is not commonly known that humans and animals are not compatible, so animal testing is not an accurate method of checking of diverse chemicals. This are just a few examples of their daily work for animals´ integrity.

Furthermore, the way that PETA is trying to make its voice heard is absolutely harmless. This organ is growing conscience all around the world by gathering people and protesting without the usage of violence. Also, negotiating with politicians and industries corporative board on this matter demonstrates a civil behavior that personifies the values of diplomacy and democracy. PETA is striving ethically so that people can conceive the consciousness that animal require.

Indeed, it can´t be denied that there are other organisms labeling themselves as animal rights defenders that due to their hypocrisy has affected the credibility of organizations like PETA. ALF, ELF and others are some of these groups. For instance, they have planned different violent attacks such as: break-ins on laboratories and industries attacks against the scientists that are testing on animals as previously mentioned or even illegally removing animals from these facilities. Those are the real extremist organizations that make people mistrust on bodies like PETA that fights on the right arenas and with the adequate tools to do so.

Animals are living beings just like humans and they are being mistreated and require the support that organs like PETA are providing them. People must not allow that a few irrational groups blocks their scope on a real issue that is occurring and is damaging our animals. PETA is a standing example of how our human liberty and intelligence makes us work with tremendous empathy on the welfare of the world that we inhabit and with the living beings that share our planet.

Top answer

I have highlighted some of the mistakes. PETA is an institutional body whose objective has been to fight for the rights of the animals. Since its beginning, people started (start is a one-time event, not a continuous process) to argue about the real values that motivated this organization.
