Here is my try: It would be a great opportunity for me to spend some time in a country that introduced euro _in_ 1999 (does it really matter???) so I could deepen my knowledge in this (what field?) field in an academic environment at (of) the (you mean some sepcific university?) university. I would be very grateful if I was given a chance.
