00Social Science has been my preferred area ever since my first year in high school. Considering the extraordinary developments in this area, both in the theory and into practice field, I decided to choose Sociology as the main field of my university study. My particular lectures have ignited my passion and have encouraged me to engage myself in research projects.02br
00After graduation, I strong-willed to further extent my knowledge and carry on my studies. For that reason, I decided to pursue a certificate degree at your university, its department of applied human science being known for its high level of educational programs and research projects.02br

00I intend to center in one of the areas of family life education, which, I believe, are best suited for my skills. Therefore, I am going to identify, under the supervision of an advisor, a coherent but, still, supple study program, which could be later adapted to future possible needs. My first objective is to reach the up-to-date level of knowledge required. As far as long-term plans, I hope to get a position at an institution where I can indulge my primary inclination, which is to implement strategies and provide support, and also be involved in scientific research.02br

00My educational background is, I am convinced, adequate for this kind of program. Beyond my required student research work, I had benefited throughout my undergraduate study from additional training, which moved my limits of knowledge and experience further than the breadth and deepness usually attained in an undergraduate study program. I have important experience in social work field, as I attained, through my school, a placement position at a shelter for senior citizen abandoned by their families, where I create and implement strategies, lead therapeutic activities with the recreational staff, planned participation in these activities, and provided additional emotional support for the residents for more than a year.02br
00I realized that if I really intend to do something about it, I must concentrate my work at the roots of the problem, which are the relations between family members. 02br

00As my strength, I have the skills to succeed in a professional career that involve helping others recognize and deal with their own personal conflicts: empathy, intuition, creativity, emotional maturity, responsibility and discretion.02br
