Some South Korean organizations that are working to reunite the two Koreas are now very much worried about North Korea’s becoming part of China. The Korean peninsula once suffered a political instability when Kim il sung died, but this time around, the cause of the instability is quite different from the last time. Kim jung eun took the reins after Kim jung il’s death, and many people are worried about economy in North Korea. Because since 2000, North Korea began to depend on China little by little, and the new leader in North Korea might double its dependence on China. The North Korea watchers say that Kim jung eun is just a figurehead, and if he really wants to capture people’s heart, he will have to make the economy moving. Then how can he move the economy forward and feed his impoverished people? It seems that North Korea found the answer in China. North Korea has nearly severed its relationship with South Korea since 2010, and they can’t turn to America either. China has been working hard to develop its local regions, and North Korea can be a great help to China if they are willing to cooperate with them. And Kim jung il even visited China twice in 2010, when the relationship between South and North Korea was in its worst shape.
