Essay & Composition Writing

Hi, Could you please check if i have any grammatical mistakes?

Please reply to me only if you are a native English speaker:D
It's a translation work I did. It's not my personal opinion!
Please read them and let me know if I made any wrong word choices, or any sentences that sound awkward.
Thank you

Ever since the book "origin of species", written by an evolutionist Charles Darwin, was released, christians and scientists have been at odds with each other.
In the U.S, whether the creationism should be dealt with in the textbook has been a hot potato issue for long. Especially in some states where many christian fundamentalists live, there are endless complaints that read "Schools should teach creationism along with evolution."
But in America, lectures on creationism are banned based on the constitution, because politics and religion are considered to be separate. Christians argue that evolutionism has not been proven through experiments, and it's just an assumption. But scientists have two different views on the matter. Richard Dawkins argues religion is a form of virus that affects human's mentality into believing religion is science. Stephen Jay Gould, another scientist, says science and religion are a totally different thing and they have nothing in common. One british poet once said all the poems about rainbow were destroyed when it was found to be just a bunch of prisms. But science does enrich our knowledge as much as religion makes us understand about humankind.
