Letter Writing

Hi! Could you check my letter, please? It is a letter to a Canadian Immigration/Trading Program.

To whom it may concern,

On the Canadian government homepage I found a link to your website.

I have been in Canada twice with a youth program and been there quite a bit as a visitor, so all in all I have been there for about 3 years within the last 4 years. For me Canada is home, and I really want to move there.

I was thinking of going to school, because the education I got is not what I want to do. I have an office education, but the last year in Canada I worked in a service company, installing and repairing poultry equipment. I really like working with tools and making things where I can see a proper result. So I wanted to go to some kind of trade school, but right now I don’t have the money for it.

Your program seems to be just perfect for me. I am just not sure yet, what kind of trade I want to get into. I worked a lot with plumbing, metal work and carpentry. And I did some mechanical work and electricity. I would probably not choose carpentry. We worked a lot alongside different carpenters and electricians, and me being the only girls out there - that would just not be my first choice. Otherwise I am pretty open, to what has the best opportunities in B.C. right now.

The other thing is that I do not have a visa right now. So I had to go back to Norway. Right now I am working a lot to make some money, since I had spend everything on trying to get a visa. I cannot get a visa without a job in Canada, and I cannot get a job without a visa. Can you maybe help me with that, please?

I would like to move back to Chilliwack or Abbotsford. That is where my friends live and where my church is. So a job in the Fraser Valley would be nice. I have as well Norwegian as German citizenship. My family lives in Germany, but I am the only one who wants to move.

I would be really thankful for a fast reply; I want to go back to B.C. as soon as possible.

Thank you very much!

Regards,

Hi, Are you sure that this is a reputable program? There are lots of sites and programs that are reputable, and lots that are not. Some of them just want to take your money.

What Canadian Government site did you find this link on? And what is the link?

Hi Clive!

I am pretty sure I found the link on a Canadian Government site. But I've read so much now, and gone through so many things, I'm not 100% sure.

The link to the Program is: http://www.itabc.ca

What do you think?

Hi,

Seems to look OK, but always be careful about such matters, particularly if they ask for money.

Yes, I will. Thanks! Does the letter look ok though?

Hi,

You need to focus your letter more, by saying clearly at the start what you want.

eg Do you want to apply?

eg Do you want an application form?

eg Do you want information about the program
