The table compares the percentages of people using mobile phones for different kinds of functions.

It is obvious that almost all people made calls by mobile phones. Among the features that had marked rises in popularity, Internet search saw the most significant growth in the periods shown.

In the years 2006 and 2008, the function of calling was easily the most popular. In 2010, however, the equivalent figure decreased slightly by only 1%. Contacting other people was necessary ( could I write ' seems to have been necessary' ) as the percentage of people sending and receiving text messages ranked second and increased by 6% from 2006 to 2010. People also used mobile phones to take photographs and for recreational purposes like playing games, though the figure for this showed a slight downturn by 1% only.

In terms of entertainment, playing music and recording videos were of less use and the percentages of phone owners accessing these features were relatively low and changed to a small extent. By contrast, the number of people having access to the Internet increased by far, with its percentage jumping to 73% in 2010.
