Hi

I can't for the life figure out what's supposedly wrong in these sentences:

A: Is John ill? He's lost a lot weight.
B: Yes, he's rather slender these days, isn't he?

Is it the tense in sentence A -- should it be present progressive or simple past? Is there a problem with the use of "rather"? Is it the tag-question?

These are really difficult!
