  • I spent three months on my project.
  • (This one does not imply that the project was necessarily completed.
  • But "I spent three months completing my project" is not absolutely correct either, unless the beginning and middle stages of the project occurred before the three months in question.

I spent three months on my project. (This one does not imply that the project was necessarily completed. But "I spent three months completing my project" is not absolutely correct either, unless the beginning and middle stages of the project occurred before the three mont
