There is always risk, so learn to manage risk instead of avoid it.

Hi.
It would be helpful if you chose more descriptive post titles.

I agree that "avoiding" would sound a lot more natural.
I would also say "there will always be" instead of "there is always."

That would be OK. But it's not necessarily wrong as is.

Learn to manage risk
instead of
(learning) (to) avoid it.
