Hello,
1. He is a girl.
A boy asked me to correct it. I told him that there may two possible way.
a) He is a boy.
b) She is a girl.
The boy told me that his teacher had told him not to change the subject, change only the subject complement. I told him that either could be correct. Either you change the pronoun according to the subject complement or change the subject comlement according to the subject pronoun. He was not happy with my answer. I was very sad as I could not satiesfied him.
Is his logic correct?

Well, at first there does seem to be a limited number of ways to correct this, doesn't there? You might consider what 'correction' means here. Would the sentence be 'corrected' if you said something like this? ....
