Heroics

(A plane has been hijacked by terrorists. One of the passengers, Will, kills three of the terrorists before being dragged away.)

Inspired by Will's heroics, another passenger gets out of his seat and runs at a terrorist.

- Is the sentence OK?

- Any odd word choices?

- Is "heroics" appropriate? I found a definition that said: very brave and impressive but unnecessary actions. Is that misleading? Would "heroism" be more appropriate?
