heritage/legacy

For the British people, Crown Jewels are important links with the past and symbols of Britian's heritage.

Hi,

Does "links" in the above amount to "associations" or "relations?"

Besides, is "heritage" interchangeable with "legacy?" Thanks.

Links is the correct wod choice, and it means cultural connections . I don't think that legacy will work here (though the jewels themselves may be a legacy, I don't think they are symbols of any).

Thanks, Mister.

Then, what does "heritage" mean in the context?

Heritage is a difficult concept - it means the inherited features belonging to the culture of a particular society, such as traditions, languages or buildings, which still exist from the past and which have historical, social and/or political importance.
